Job Description

Introduction

* Interns are expected to have the skills to help analyze data, communicate statuses, pull and review supporting documentation for costs billed and be able to compile data and be responsible for performing various administrative and clerical tasks in support of the AR Team. Through the intern program, we are looking to find the next wave of talent who want to learn government contract billing.
* Successful completion of internship program may result in an offer to join ARA as a full-time employee.

What you'll do as a Accounts Receivable Intern

* Become familiar with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
* Assist AR Analysts in preparing contract billing while learning various government contract types, terms and conditions, etc.
* Pull cost backup support documentation to assist co-workers with billing requirements
* Reconcile costs billed in Wide Area Work Flow to the DFAS payment system / MOCAS download to ensure DFAS paid according to invoice submittal
* Tie out labor entered in customer systems (SLICs, STEPs) to ARA's time reporting systems
* Prepare vendor refunds for customer overpayments
* Perform collection of outstanding invoices
* Prepare billing for facility subleases and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) milestone billing
* Run job status reports to assist co-workers with monthly billing
* Actively participate in special projects

Accounts Receivable Intern Requirements

* Enrolled in at least junior year of college/university.
* Must be able to work at least part-time (20 hours per week) for a minimum of 10 weeks.
* Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., visa sponsorship not available.
* Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and take initiative.
* Must have excellent attention to detail, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
* Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently and still meet deadlines assigned.

Accounts Receivable Intern Preferences

* Microsoft Office experience (Outlook and Excel)
* 10-key to touch
