Senior Signaling Design Engineer - International Projects #50021683.

Ansaldo STS USA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Signaling Design Engineer – International Projects to work in Pittsburgh, PA, and be responsible for designing complex and medium national/ international railroad signaling functional systems (including hardware, software, functional and configuration design and production checks). Will also be responsible for reviewing designed solutions against railroad signaling industry standards (including CENELEC, IEEE, and IPC) and company standard solutions; producing functional design documentation including system requirements, architecture, interface control, scheme plans, control tables, block design and analysis; ensuring design compliance through requirement traceability; ensuring the hardware design and functional documents produced are issued and controlled in accordance with company processes; participating in/lead reviews to detect design errors, process and tool inefficiencies and implementing corrective and improvement actions; analyzing verification and validation feedback and site tests; leading design efforts for complex signaling and railroad solutions, architect and defend technical solutions for unique signaling and wider railroad challenges including presenting and defending the technical solution to the customer; and performing expert review of requirements and designs including develop requirements for new products/product enhancements.

Must have a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Railroad Signaling; Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering; or Computer Information Systems plus seven (7) years of experience in a signaling functional design position.

Must have any experience with each of the following:

(i) electrical circuit design;

(ii) programmable logic (digital/Boolean logic) design;

(iii) Institute of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) certification; and

(iv) knowledge of railroad signaling industry standards (including CENELEC, IEEE and IPC).
