Job Description

Analog Devices (NASDAQ: ADI) designs and manufactures semiconductor products and solutions. We enable our customers to interpret the world around us by intelligently bridging the physical and digital worlds with unmatched technologies that sense, measure and connect.

Analog Devices is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a broad portfolio of high performance analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits (ICs) used in virtually all types of electronic equipment. Since our inception in 1965, we have focused on solving the engineering challenges associated with signal processing in electronic equipment. Used by over 100,000 customers worldwide, our signal processing products play a fundamental role in converting, conditioning, and processing real-world phenomena such as temperature, pressure, sound, light, speed, and motion into electrical signals to be used in a wide array of electronic devices. We focus on key strategic markets where our signal processing technology is often a critical differentiator in our customers' products, namely the industrial, automotive, communications, and consumer markets.

The Instrumentation Group located in Colorado Springs, CO is currently seeking a new college graduate beginning a career in IC development. Products in this strategy are comprised of integrated high speed and precision signal chains targeted at instrumentation applications, including Automated Test Equipment (ATE) applications. These mixed-signal parts are designed in a BiCMOS process and combined with other die on a laminate.

The candidate's responsibilities will include transistor level schematic design and simulation of mixed signal circuits including high speed drivers and receivers, DACs, opamps and references. Layout of cells may also be required. Assisting in the system architecture design will also be necessary to ensure designs operate functionally between blocks. Duties also include working with evaluation engineers to compare and contrast simulation and lab results. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn high speed design techniques including layout, gain system level design experience, work with newly developed internal BiCMOS processes and collaborate closely with an experienced development team.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Design of analog/digital circuits including high-speed drivers and receivers as well as biasing and voltage references. Layout of above circuits.
* Collaboration with the Instrumentation design team to determine implementation of requirements at the system level
* Participate in customer collaboration to determine product architecture needs
* Simulation at the transistor circuit level with internal Spice tools
* Work closely with evaluation engineers when silicon arrives to compare and contrast simulation results including eye diagrams, jitter and timing accuracies
* Preparation and presentation of design review documentation packages

* BSEE, MSEE preferred.
* Must have knowledge and/or experience in: Analog Bipolar Circuit Design
* Ability to collaborate in a team environment
* Knowledge of Spice simulators and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
* Ability to problem solve at the transistor and system levels
* Knowledge of general lab equipment
* Good presentation and writing/communication skills.
* Must be self-directed, detail-oriented and thorough
