About Our Internship Program:

Here at Amway, our interns develop through real world experience and are assigned meaningful projects that challenge and allow for personal growth. All Interns receive project support and on-going performance feedback from a person advisor and hiring manager. Amway hosts over 80+ interns each summer and offers programming events designed to assist navigating Amway culture, making the most of a summer internship, and building a successful career. The program provides exposure to a breadth of career fields and provides unique opportunities to learn business acumen, work cross-functionally and showcase their skillsets directly to hiring managers and executives.

This job posting is for our summer 2020 Internship Program (May - August); qualified candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and one semester or more left of school to complete at the beginning of their internship. Candidates who have graduated are not eligible to intern.

Internship Job Title: Food Scientist- Product Development

What is special about this team: The Food & Beverage Team is a department within Nutrition Research and Development. We are responsible for developing differentiated products and solutions that fuel Amway's nutrition pipeline for our business owners and their customers.

How would an intern contribute to the team's success: The intern will gain exposure to a variety of departments and interact with both internal and external partners. They will be exposed to experimentation in the early stages of product development. The intern will gain product development experience in ideation, prototyping, and formula optimization. They will work independently with the guidance & oversight of a technical mentor.

An example of a typical project is: Product development of a children's food-based (alternative delivery)* product that meets global regulatory requirements. The intern will present final protype(s), key learnings, and recommendations for potential scale up and commercialization.

* Alternative Delivery - Food format such as gummy, snack, or beverage (ready to drink or powder).

Desired Degree: Pursuing B.S. or M.S. degree in Food Science & Technology, Culinary Science, Nutrition or related field.
