Job Description

 Company Overview

IONX, LLC, an Amsted Rail Company, is a leading provider of Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) systems for supply chain visibility and condition monitoring applications.  Our railroad, chemical, and mining customers use our solutions to monitor remote unpowered assets operating in harsh or hazardous environments.

The Opportunity

The IONX EdgeTM Platform comprises internally developed device firmware, enterprise software services, and web applications to deliver actionable information to our customers in an ultra-low-power ecosystem.  The application software is used to decode, translate, and store data from internal and external sources in an efficient and timely manner while maintaining extensibility.  Web applications and data integration services leverage contemporary design patterns and external tools when applicable for rapid deployment of a feature-rich user experience.

We are currently seeking an Application Software Engineer skilled in C#/.Net development who displays an interest in making significant contributions to new and ongoing strategic projects. We provide full end-to-end solutions and services to our customers, and create and manage the entire platform starting with the device hardware in the field through to the user experience on a computer or tablet screen.  Configuration and logic is pushed down to the sensor, so that events can be generated and decisions can be made across the entire system from rail-yard to office.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for design, implementation, and support of both customer facing and internal applications, in parts or in whole, involving some or all of the following skill set:

  • 2+ years C# & .Net
  • 2+ years HTML, JavaScript, and CSS recommended
  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • A firm understanding and demonstrated application of current software design patterns
  • Exercise creative thinking, drive, and passion to overcome challenges encountered during projects

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's  degree in a related discipline such as Computer Science/Engineering or Information Systems
  • Some exposure to REST/JSON web services, Angular reactive framework, or Microsoft Azure      desired
  • Highly motivated and eager to produce high performance, high quality applications in a timely fashion; exhibit a thirst for technology

Through competitive salary, generous health and personal benefits, the Embedded Software Engineer will have the opportunity to enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. The employee will also enjoy a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded.

At IONX, we are dedicated to solving our customer's challenges using the expertise and technical innovation required to transform data into actionable intelligence.  Come join a team that is leading the development of the Industrial IoT for unpowered assets.  Learn more at:  www.ionx.io and www.amstedrail.com

IONX, LLC is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer that is committed to hiring a diverse and talented workforce.
