We are looking for engineers to help us build out our next generation platform in the cloud, develop new innovative applications, and increase the reliability and speed of our current products. If you have prior experience with moving servers into the cloud, then we have a place for you!

The position is based in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood. We recently won BikeNYC's commuter challenge for companies of our size! And are also located near several subway trains. At Amplify you will be doing meaningful work to improve education in a fun workplace. We take pride in hiring the brightest developers and helping them flourish professionally and personally.


* Design, develop, deploy and maintain high performance, horizontally scalable and extensible applications in a fast paced agile environment.
* Conduct and participate in design and code reviews.
* Work with QA to diagnose, debug and perform root-cause analysis of issues and defects.
* Work closely with the Tech Lead and Product Owner for understanding the business and system requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science
* Ability to write code expertly in at least two dissimilar languages (Ideally Java/J2EE and/or Python)
* Experience with database management systems (ideally any one of the following: Oracle, PostgreSQL and/or MySQL)

Preferred Qualifications :

* Master's degree in Computer Science
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
* A passion for computer programming; Ideally you have open source projects to share with us
* Comfortable picking up new languages as needed
* Experience in React, Bootstrap and/or other Javascript frameworks
* Experience deploying applications on AWS
* Proven communications skills
* Understanding of good software design and modern software engineering practice
