Position Summary: Product Engineer- Entry Level Location: Nashua, NH We are currently seeking an entry level Product Engineer to join our team. The position will be located in Nashua, NH. RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Product Engineer, the candidate would be the technical expert for one or more connector product lines on our NPI team supporting/collaborating with Development Engineering. Responsible for product quality, reliability and integrity. Perform failure analysis on defects from product applications and certain manufacturing processes Participation / integration with product designers in support of design reviews, qualification, testing and introduction of new products and product derivatives Customer focal point in support of technical product information, product applications and general guidance Identify and facilitate a variety of project initiatives such as cost improvement, overall quality and product performance Assist in the successful transition of products and processes from NPI facility to volume manufacturing into low cost regions Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating test plans Machining and fixture design Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes thru pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta-site customers QUALIFICATIONS: BS/MS Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Materials Science degree Strong analytical and problem solving skills Experience with solid modeling tools (Pro/E), FEA tools a plus Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical people Ability to work in team environment Additional skills: Desire to create and design new products and processes Knowledge of copper alloys and high performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus Basic understanding of electrical connectors Amphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
