Job Description

Working in partnership with the Alabama Sports Medicine Association, Alabama Fusion Center, High Intensity Drug Tracking Area program and various law enforcement agencies, Opioid Abuse Awareness and Prevention VISTA members will assist in awareness education to reduce the amount of Opioid abuse and overdose fatalities in Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair and Chilton counties. This work will include developing awareness and prevention presentations for student athletes and community stakeholders, providing training on gathering intelligence concerning Opioid cases, and tracking best practices. VISTAs will partner with law enforcement, prevention experts, educational leaders, doctors, community leaders and many more in taking steps to address the very serious and growing problem of abuse of heroin and other Opioids to save lives and to improve the quality of life in our community.
