Your Contribution at AIG

The Analyst position will be joining the acquisition team focused on investing equity capital in institutional real estate across several asset types located in the Central US. The Analyst will be assisting the acquisition team in identifying, underwriting and closing new investments. The role will use various modeling, statistical, and mathematical techniques to extract data and insights to prepare and present investment opportunities to senior management.

Responsibilities and role will include the following but not limited to:

* Collection and analysis of market data from competitive project and transactions
* Monitor and analyze key economic and demographic trends in target markets
* Perform top-down statistical and specialized analyses (including both microeconomics and macroeconomics analysis) to identify how fluctuations in key economic drivers, (e.g. GDP, income growth, employment, consumer confidence, interest rates, supply and demand etc.) and changing government policy may impact investment performance
* Assist the investment teams in applying market forecasts to guide regional benchmark underwriting assumptions for assigned property types
* Specialized mathematical underwriting and pro-forma modeling with Argus Enterprise and MS Excel
* Facilitate the due diligence process including managing and reviewing third party consultants reports and property documentation, organizing site visits and investment closing process
* Prepare written investment committee memorandums in relation to proposed transactions

What we are looking for

* Around 1-3 years of work experience in commercial real estate or finance with an understanding of financial concepts such as IRR, and DCF, and comp analysis;
* Basic knowledge of all aspects associated with commercial real estate investing including acquisition, development and financing processes, market analysis, financial analysis, property valuation, capital market knowledge;
* Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as ARGUS Enterprise; Dynamic Excel modeling abilities that include writing and analyzing complex formulas in Excel;
* Strong academic background, preferably in finance or accounting;
* Superior analytical, quantitative, and technical skills;
* Ability to work independently with strong organization and prioritization skills;
* Highly developed interpersonal skills that demonstrate confidence with the ability to build and maintain real estate market relationships including commercial brokerages, joint venture partners, co-workers;
* Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting strict deadlines;
* Excellent business writing and oral communication skills.
