Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Lead and develop a team of inventory planners for specific merchandise areas overseeing inventory management plans and related strategies across all Channels (Stores and Direct) and Geos (US and Canada). Support brand initiatives and deliver sales, margin and inventory turn goals through strategic decision making and guidance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensure financial success of division/department by implementing inventory strategies to meet or exceed sales, gross margin and inventory turn goals. Partner with Planning Managers/DMM's to ensure alignment of goals and anticipated results.
* Drive inventory planning strategy for specific division/departments. Provide clear strategic and tactical direction to inventory planners that supports company/brand/division goals and inventory principles.
* Use extensive knowledge of the business to drive decisions/actions to deliver sales and gross margin goals. Ensure lower level decisions align with cross functional point of view.
* Ensure channel contribution aligns with current trends and buys support sales for all stores/channels. Drive alignment on omni size offerings, profiles and packing decisions.
* Analyze in-season store/channel and size selling trends. Share with Planning Managers/DMM's and provide guidance to the team to adjust the allocation strategies and/or take concrete action to maximize sales and profitability.
* Provide fiscal control through recommendations to drive receipt management.
* Partner with field leadership/Regional Director(s) to maximize sales and profitability of all stores within market. Provide weekly business analysis inclusive of actions to drive for results. Align on sales projection by store by department for future periods. Ensure inventory positioned to achieve and beat expectations.
* Lead Inventory Planning team to improve inventory management through process/systems improvements and resource utilization.
* Manage the career growth and development of Inventory Planners and Associate Inventory Planners. Actively focus succession planning to accommodate needs within Inventory Planning and Merchandise Planning.
* Actively participate in intern/teammate training programs as coach/mentor.
* Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

AUTHORITY:

* Location Plans by division/region/store
* Weekly allocation strategies and store/channel inventory management
* Management of inventory principles: presentation levels, ending inventory targets, size profiles
* Allocation release privileges.
* Team development and management

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Advanced degree (Master's / MBA) a plus.
* 7+ years specialty retail Allocation/Inventory Planning, Store Planning and/or Merchandise planning experience.
* Strong financial/business acumen.
* Prior experience using JDA Allocation, JDA Enterprise Planning and/or demand planning tools within a specialty retailer preferred.
* High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, interpersonal and presentation skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team and while leading a team.
* Ability to work with and influence senior management.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
* Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
