Description

This Principal Program Manager position will be responsible for managing large programs sponsored by Revenue Management.  This Principal PM will work closely with the Revenue Management team to implement one of AA’s top priority efforts.  Servant leadership and great communication skills are required.   A proven track record of delivering large programs is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business team to determine requirements/business rules for large program, including program vision, program scope, program user story creation and prioritization and release planning
  • Collaborate with Sabre to ensure technical specifications meet program requirements.  Work directly with Sabre PM to track actual spend, project status and to align on program issues/risks
  • Plan, organize and lead program-level meetings and Scrum of Scrum calls with IT teams to understand their individual status and any issues/risks to program
  • Provide program updates to leadership and, at times, executives.  Notify leadership team when issues arise that could impact the program and be able to articulate impact
  • Monitor/track project milestones and deliverables and provide status on progress
  • Complete required funding documents and ensure project adheres to budget, schedule, and scope
  • Oversee project financials and resource planning/allocation in Planview
  • Establish and execute a program communication plan, including status reports, risk management, escalation of issues that cannot be resolved within the team, and newsletter updates
  • Build an excellent working relationship with the business sponsor and IT and business teams working on program
  • Work closely with QA Lead to ensure test  scenarios test all critical program functionality

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years relevant project management experience; program management experience preferred
  • Must have an IT background/experience, project management related degree or equivalent experience/training; advanced degree preferred
  • Must have a working understanding of Sabre host system (PNRs, VCRs, fareclass hierarchy, etc.)
  • Must have prior experience / working understanding of AA revenue management
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to articulate complex requirements to large, diverse audiences
  • Must have outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills; must be very detailed
  • Hands-on experience managing project(s) using Agile development methodology
  • Knowledge with wide variety of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum and Waterfall
  • Advanced proficiency with Rally, Planview, SharePoint, Microsoft Project
  • Proven track record of delivering complex project/programs within budget and on time
  • Proven ability to build excellent working relationships with a diverse group of individuals
