Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler's Chicago Office near O'Hare International Airport seeks to add an entry level engineer to our Structural Engineering team, working within the Transportation/Infrastructure Design group.

Key Responsibilities

* Primary responsibilities include the design of bridges and other transportation-related structures or structural elements; Other structural engineering tasks may relate to the rail or industrial sectors
* Occasional field assignments will be expected
* Candidate will need to be able to perform analysis of bridge or other structural components in a diverse design team under the supervision of a Senior Level Engineer
* Develop design plans and specifications for use during construction and ensure all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations
* Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to work collaboratively and communicate as part of a diverse design team

Skills / Qualifications

* 0-3 years of related experience in Transportation Industry
* BS in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering required; Masters Degree in Structural Engineering also acceptable
* Strong written and oral communication skills required
* Experience with A.A.S.H.T.O. Bridge Design code preferred
* Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD software preferred
* Demonstrated ability to solve engineering problems
* Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
