Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is seeking a Junior-Level Electrical Engineer, EIT to execute electrical engineering requirements independently or as a member of a design team, including drawings, plans, specifications and studies. Individual will perform site assessments; analysis and lighting layouts and significant CADD work. Design tasks will include Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analyses, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout for facility electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Works under the supervision of a Senior Engineer
* Executes facility electrical engineering designs IAW applicable codes and standards
* Evaluates LEED/sustainable opportunities for new construction and renovation projects
* Performs field assessments, facility condition assessment and sustainable infrastructure assessments
* Generates workload plans, design analyses, drawing plans, specifications, cost estimates and estimated construction schedule
* Supports proposals generation
* Significant CADD/GIS work with AutoCAD
* Will travel with the team to project sites in the US and International - Approximately 25% overnight travel

Skills / Qualifications

Required

* Minimum Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with coursework/background in facility systems
* Has EIT or will achieve EIT within first year of employment
* 0 - 4 years + years of experience in electrical design
* Commercial lighting and energy audit background preferred
* Under direct supervision, ability to manage and execute multiple project activities from concept design through construction closeout
* Under direct supervision, ability to write design analyses, specifications, estimate project costs, and estimate construction schedule durations
* Under direct supervision, ability to generate own drawing packages with AutoCAD
* Ability and willingness to travel 25% average with specific projects potentially requiring extended travel
* US and overseas travel possible
* Has the ability to get US Passport
* Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy

Preferred

* Experience with REVIT
* Experience with Facility Condition Assessments and the use of BUILDER
* Prefer some DoD experience (UFCs, UFGS, SpecsIntact) but not mandatory
