Job Description

AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts is one of the foremost performing arts colleges in the country with campuses in Los Angeles and New York City. The school offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs in Acting, Musical Theatre, Dance Theatre and Performing Arts as well as two year conservatory programs.

AMDA is seeking high-initiative individuals who would enjoy teaching aspiring performing artists the knowledge and real-world problem-solving skills required for successful, creative business ventures. Flexibility with a can-do attitude is a must to succeed in our continually evolving environment and college culture. The goal of AMDA's Entrepreneurship course is to introduce students to the process through which new ventures may be created, while allowing for the opportunity to envision a career in (or related to) the arts based upon their individual creative and professional interests. Teaching candidates should be familiar with topics such as the entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial finance, budgeting, fundraising, 21st century marketing, non-profit management/ownership, marketing, and branding.

Required Qualifications include:

* Master's degree in business, entrepreneurship or a related field or equivalent industry experience
* College-level teaching experience and willingness to learn curriculum-specific material
* Ability to effectively teach an entrepreneurial course specifically designed for performing artists
* Record of strong administrative experience, and excellent interpersonal skills required
* Commitment to excellence in teaching and management
* Qualities of leadership
* Demonstration of collegial teamwork, desire to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the Entrepreneurial success of the students

Preferred Qualifications include:

* Doctorate degree in business
* Demonstrated experience as an exceptional teacher at the undergraduate level
* Strong potential as a scholar and evidence of personal success as an entrepreneur
* Competency in entrepreneurial finance and will help develop an undergraduate course in that discipline
* Five years of job experience in the professional field of expertise
