The Kindle Content team works on making every content in every language available for every customer everywhere.
The Kindle Content team is building a platform for managing subscriptions that targets at a broad category of subscriptions. It will offer a convenient way for Amazon customers to sign-up for subscriptions and manage their subscription (e.g. cancel, upgrade, renew) at a single place on Amazon.com and get instant access to select digital content (e.g. magazines) on their preferred devices.

We are looking to hire an experienced software development engineer in test to help develop, maintain, and execute the software that will test systems that would play a key role in Amazon's expansion. A successful candidate will have an industry-leading technical abilities that enable them to significantly improve product quality through writing test framewroks, tools, and automation, and motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

SDETs work on engineering teams are structured in small groups with a strong impetus to innovate, drive end to end ownership and meet critical business goals. Fresh college graduates get to rub shoulders with outstanding engineers and researchers with industry leading technical abilities, solving challenging engineering problems that affect millions of Amazon customers. Engineers also get to collaborate and work with teams across the globe, in the process being exposed to a range of technologies, best practices and solution patterns. Our brown bag sessions and Principal talks are among the most popular presentations with healthy debate and a cross pollination of ideas.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
Excellent programming skills in either C, C++ or Java
Strong fundamentals in core Computer Science areas like Data Structures and Algorithms.
3+ years of experience as a software developer with Java or C++

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to programmatically test any software product and develop automation for it.
Experienced with designing tools and frameworks
2+ years experience in a test or development role as part of a product development organization
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
Create reliable/maintainable code, and find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and orally is a key competency as is demonstrable skill as a self-starter
