Overview

A. M. Best is actively recruiting for our 4th Analytical Development Program. We are seeking ambitious, career focused - recent or future college graduates with strong financial aptitude and outstanding people skills to join our team.

As a member of our multi-discipline rotational program, Associate Analysts will acquire foundational insurance industry knowledge while collaborating with numerous business groups and leaders in the development of issuer credit ratings and financial strength ratings. This exceptional career opportunity will challenge you to apply your financial acumen, analytical abilities and communication skills while assessing the financial strength of insurance and holding companies.

As a member of the Analytical Development Program and A.M. Best, you will be exposed to a unique perspective on the insurance industry far broader than that gained by working for a conventional insurance company. As an Associate Analyst, you will discover the key elements driving insurers' successes and failures and learn how insurance industry trends affect market cycles, pricing and contract conditions.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate with senior analytical team in the analysis and credit assessment of insurance operating and holding companies
* Research and analysis of vital financial data and statistics
* Perform industry research and competitive analysis in various insurance markets
* Participate in testing and quality assurance of pending system releases/updates
* Assist in the development, maintenance and review of Best's Credit Rating Methodology (BCRM) and related criteria procedures
* Assist in the prompt and accurate response to regulatory requests
* Administer impairments identification and recordkeeping processes
* Actively assist in the preparation of materials and agenda for rating meetings

Qualifications

* 0-3 years financial analysis experience or insurance industry experience
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Math or Economics
* Possess or working towards relevant professional qualifications and designations (MSc, MA, MBA, CA, CFA, Actuarial, CPCU, CLU, FRM, etc.)
