Job Description

Altera is now the Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) of Intel Corporation. As part of Intel, we will continue to apply Moore's Law to drive the future of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology. Altera has been delivering industry-leading custom logic solutions to customers since inventing the world's first reprogrammable logic device in 1984. In order to take advantage of the many opportunities that we see in the future for FPGA's, PSG is looking for great engineers to join our teams.

As a Front End Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and timing closure of Place and Route modules in the SoC/Configuration design group.

The successful candidate's minimum qualifications will include the following:
Recent college graduate. BSEE or equivalent. Knowledge of verilog RTL design and simulation environments. Good foundation in STA with preferred experience in PT. Technical expertise in successful completion of ASIC/FPGA projects. Strong analytical, and problem solving skills as well as debugging skills. Self-motivated, excellent communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment.

At Altera, we take pride in creating an energetic and dynamic work environment that is driven by ingenuity and innovation. We believe the growth and success of our company is directly linked to the growth and satisfaction of our employees. That is why Altera is committed to a work environment that is flexible and collaborative, and allows our employees to reach their full potential.

Altera Corporation is the pioneer of programmable logic solutions, enabling system and semiconductor companies to rapidly and cost effectively innovate, differentiate and win in their markets. Altera combines the programmable logic technology originally invented in 1983 with software tools, intellectual property, and customer support to provide high-value programmable solutions to over 13,000 customers worldwide. Altera is headquartered in San Jose, California, and employs approximately 3,000 people in 19 countries.

About Altera Corporation

Altera Corporation (Altera) is a supplier of programmable semiconductors and related products. Altera designs, manufactures, and markets programmable logic devices (PLDs), hardcopy application- specific integrated circuits (ASICs), pre-defined design building blocks, known as intellectual property (IP) cores, and associated development tools. PLDs, which consist of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs), are standard semiconductor integrated circuits, or chips, that its customers program to perform desired logic functions in their electronic systems. Its HardCopy enables its customer to transition from high-density FPGAs to non-programmable implementations for volume production. IP cores can be licensed by customers to add standard functions to their PLD designs. (Source: 10-K)
