WHAT RESPONSIBILITIES WILL I HAVE???

Summary

Operates as the senior manufacturing operations leader for this facility, and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the production process from raw material input to final product packaging. Responsible for product quality, production efficiency, attainment, safety, and employee relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute an operational strategy that meets the requirements of the business.
  • Lead center-lined manufacturing practices using standard operating procedures.
  • Be a leader in continuous improvement, and with the input of the manufacturing team, identify opportunities and execute positive change on an ongoing basis.
  • Utilizing the production schedule, develop the most efficient configuration of equipment, labor, and material usage in order to attain daily/weekly objectives.
  • Manage production to achieve customer service requirements while adhering to high standards of quality.
  • Execute manufacturing quality programs to achieve the Company's quality and food safety programs, and to assure adherence to our customer's product specifications.
  • Achieve operating and capital budgets.
  • Work closely with the production planning, scheduling, and customer service functions.
  • Work closely with the maintenance function to achieve lowest possible down time and efficient use of plant and equipment.
  • Work closely with the sanitation function to meet all regulatory, company, and customer requirements with regard to food safety and quality.
  • Establish a culture of accountability and team work for the location by developing and communicating individual and team metrics; such objectives include the areas of:
    • Safety
    • Quality
    • Production attainment
    • Associate relations and retention
    • Labor and material variances
  • Lead an effective associate relations program as measured by satisfaction, retention, people development, and union avoidance.

WHAT'S REQUIRED OF ME FOR THIS ROLE?

Essential Requirements

  • Four year degree in a related, business or technical field such as food science, operations management, engineering, or the equivalent in experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in production management in the following environment -
    • Food manufacturing (preferred, not essential)
    • High speed CPG environment (essential)
    • Tight quality standards with high regulatory requirements (essential)
  • Significant experience with implementing (not just working with) lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Learning agility.
  • Self-awareness and ability to self correct and self develop.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead change.
  • Effective mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both salaried professionals and hourly production associates in executing complex, operational programs.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule.
