Alliance Scientific Solutions is looking for an EHS Specialist for our client who is a global manufacturing company is Wadsworth, OH.







Job Summary:

This position will provide full time environmental health and safety support to the operation and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with state and national regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible for coordinating regulatory environmental programs and any permitting requirements. Support the development and training of all safety programs and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing technical support.Assists with all compliance to all applicable industry, government and environmental.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety, and Environmental management.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
  • Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
  • Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
  • Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.
  • Ability to work with employees and achieve cultural change in the face of potential resistance.
  • Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other work related tasks as required as assigned
  • Comply with all Company and HSE procedures and policies.
  • To follow up on corrective actions and ensure compliance
  • To gather and report Key Performance Indicators and to analyze and offer feedback to Mangers.
  • To assure the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
  • To keep an independent eye on all processes.

Facility Specific Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support.
  • Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
  • Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures
  • Perform facility HSE Inspections
  • Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
  • Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (OSHA,  EPA, etc.), including company HSE policies and procedures
  • Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance ie labeling, containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
  • Perform Storm Water Discharge sampling and document events
  • Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
  • Oversee Behavior Based/Observation Safety Programs.
  • Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
  • Follow Fall Protection program, inspect all fall protection equipment and maintain inspection records.
  • Ability to oversee Safety Incentive Programs.
  • Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard
  • Comm., EAP, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by QA manager



  • Prefer a Bachelor Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety Sciences or a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an EHS manufacturing environment.
  • Health and Safety position of 1-3 years with a strong QA background is a plus
  • Technical writing is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to work different shifts
