ROLE SUMMARY The Performance Management team at Alliance College-Ready Public Schools is seeking an Associate to support our talent data analysis needs in the Alliance Home Office. The Associate, Talent Data Analysis will analyze various human capital data sources (e.g. compensation data, performance data, etc.) and identify actionable insights that drive decision making and improvements. This position will report to the Manager, Strategic Initiatives- Teacher Performance Management and will work closely with other members of the Performance Management Team on non-teacher related data needs. The ideal candidate for this position will be a detail oriented, analytical thinker, with the ability to accurately synthesize and translate complex and high stakes human capital data for use in decision making by a variety of audiences. WHAT YOU WILL DO * Maintain a data calendar and codify all data processes to ensure timely, replicable, and strategic analysis * Work in partnership with members of the Performance Management Team and other key stakeholders to calendar known annual data requests, planning sufficient lead time to ensure accuracy and timeliness, while also maintaining flexibility to respond to ad-hoc data requests * Maintain detailed documentation of code, business rules, and data analysis procedures, etc. to ensure high accuracy and replicability for all data processes * Gather and leverage feedback from key stakeholders to inform ongoing improvements to data-dashboards and reports * Cross-train and collaborate with other data-focused staff in the Home Office to implement agreed upon, network-wide data procedures that support greater process alignment and data integrity across the Alliance network * Analyze and maintain confidential teacher performance and compensation data *
  • Clean and analyze data used for assessing teacher performance, teacher compensation, and school compliance with teacher performance review policies and deadlines * In partnership with the Manager, Strategic Initiatives - Teacher Performance Management, develop regular (at least quarterly) reports that elevate important trends in performance and compliance and that are actionable and user-friendly for School Leaders, Instructional Superintendents, and members of the Performance Management Team * Conduct multilevel analysis and data quality checks, at times in partnerships with external vendors (e.g. Education Analytics, Whetstone, etc.), to determine all teachers' annual, multiple measure performance rating and compensation * Manage the internal data dashboard for teacher performance reviews to ensure real time, efficient sharing of accurate compliance and performance data * Support the implementation of our teacher performance review process, Grow, by implementing data analysis to determine teacher rosters, academic growth measure targets, and other analytical needs * Analyze other confidential personnel data and support other reporting needs * In collaboration with the Director, Compensation, conduct analysis of compensation data to help inform the implementation of our compensation model * Conduct regular (at least triannual) analysis of Home Office performance review data to assess compliance, elevate trends in performance, and help inform implementation, tool, and training refinements * Analyze quarterly performance-based employee retention by and work in partnership with the Vice President, Performance Management to develop quarterly risk-assessment reports for the Alliance Board of Directors * Provide data disaggregation, charts, graphic presentations, and written analysis of data in a format that is actionable and consumable for the Performance Management Team and different levels of decision makers, including Home Office leadership, Instructional Superintendents, School Leaders, etc. * Perform other duties as assigned THE IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE/BE: * Experience in a similar data analytics role or in analyzing large datasets using different tools * Enthusiasm to problem solve and improve efficiency of existing data processes * Experience with database management using SQL preferred * Experience with conducting data analysis using programming languages like Stata, R or Python preferred; knowledge of Tableau is a plus * Willingness to learn new skills/tools quickly and function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment * Flexible, optimistic approach, and comfort with change and ambiguity * Willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team committed to a new future for urban education MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * At least 1 year of professional work experience -OR- 1 completed year of data analytics/ data management coursework * HS Diploma or equivalent (e.g. G.E.D.) * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google-based applications COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS In alignment with our commitment to equity for our scholars, Alliance is committed to equity and transparency for our team so we offer competitive salaries commensurate with experience and education, as well as an employer-sponsored 403b plan with an employer annual contribution equal to 5% of regular earnings, and a comprehensive group health benefits package, including medical, dental and vision coverage.
