Advanced Engineering Innovation Program- Associate Software Engineer Golden, CO

The Role
Allegion is committed to developing select engineers in an 18 month developmental program. The program trains engineers in state-of-the-art tools and methodologies. The program is designed for both technical innovators and people leaders and is Allegion's inaugural talent development program.

We're looking for performance-driven, innovative engineers who understand the importance of collaboration and customer focus. Our engineering development program offers candidates that ability to rapidly ramp up to full productivity by gaining exposure to the business, developing technical and soft skills, and to set a positive platform for future growth, advancement, and success.

The Advanced Engineering Innovation Program will consist of 4 phases:
On-boarding: 6 weeks of intensive training on tools and processes and the Allegion business Product Life Cycle Development: 6-9 months Innovation Project, 2-4 months New Product Development (NPD): 12-18 months. Join NPD team from planning through launch
Duties and Responsibilities:

General assignment details:
Assigned to a product development team that is in the planning phase through project completion Learn about project resources, storage, and your responsibilities Analyze product requirements associated with your assignment (s) Take responsibility for a subsection of the project, interact with other subsection owners, represent your subsection in design reviews and implement your subsection in accordance with project requirements and Allegion best practices Actively participate in cross-discipline and cross-functional design reviews Analyze your designs to show robustness, ease of use, and the tradeoffs that you analyzed when implementing your design Actively participate in the overall design validation testing
Software Engineering assignment:
Assigned to Electronic Lock Life Cycle Team Practice/training of basic tools and processes Software development tools Software development practices (configuration management, bug tracking, testing, etc.) Engineering change process Development of critical skills Design, code, testing cycle Robust coding practices Make and execute design changes to existing products Start to finish including analysis, design, coding, unit testing, system testing, and production implementation Customer experience-visit job site as an Engineering Representative and assist with problem solving Spend a week working in one of our manufacturing facilities Spend a week working in our System Test Laboratory
You will:
Work on a team developing and sustaining iOS, Android, and/or WEB services based applications Be responsible for tasks within a project with clearly defined steps. Generally relating to a single application or product Interact with immediate team and project team members Work with senior engineers to establish the proper approach to a problem as well as understanding what is important Learn and grow as a software engineer
BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science Organizational skills Minimum GPA: 3.0 At least two prior engineering internships preferred Demonstrated leadership activities Collaboration skills Effective oral and written communication Task planning skills Troubleshooting skills Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Self-motivated problem solver
