POSITION TITLE: Coordinator: Data and School Support Team (OAR)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To foster continuous improvement and data use in APS elementary, middle and high schools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Provides training to diverse groups of adult learners in continuous improvement and data use and analysis to build capacity of school staff and others in improving academic outcomes;
* Facilitates implementation of continuous improvement processes in schools to bolster student achievement;
* Serves as data and information systems coach and trainer supporting APS Schools with NM Public Education Department accountability requirements (for example: school grading model);
* Facilitates school data review processes and use of the APS data information systems, data protocols and processes to achieve continuous classroom improvement that impacts student learning outcomes;
* Supports principal and teacher professional learning communities related to data analysis and implementing research-based approaches for improving instruction and making program improvement decisions;
* Assists in developing school turnaround strategies and supporting the implementation for schools identified under the PED school accountability system for school improvement; and
* Works collaboratively with multiple APS departments to promote the practice of data driven decision making for various initiatives and programs.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

* Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction.
* Master's degree in Education, Technology, Adult Learning, Business, Organizational Behavior, or National Board Certification.
* Experience facilitating learning for teams of K-12 educators. educational leaders, and administrators;
* Experience gathering, interpreting, reporting on and presenting school performance data;
* Knowledge of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), PARCC, NAEP, and NextGen assessments;
* Knowledge of the New Mexico Public Education Department Accountability model;
* Ability to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines;
* Interpersonal skills with diverse populations;
* Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team member;
* Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills; and
* Advanced understanding of complex educational organizations and learning environments.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's Degree in Education, Technology, Adult Learning, Business, Organizational Behavior or related field and five years of related experience.
* Ability to present to large and small groups utilizing adult learning principles and best practices;
* Data analysis, interpretation of data, and the ability to describe and explain data to educators, educational leaders, and administrators;
* Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction.
