POSITION TITLE: Specialist - Restorative Practice Data Resources, Short-Term Position

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Will be responsible for all data and reporting out of the data requirements for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Restorative Justice (RJ) grant. Assist PIRE with the collection/compilation and produce reports of data required for the NIJ grant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Designs and implements data entry and reporting for the Restorative Justice (RJ) grant including student/school characteristics such as:
* demographic data
* free/reduced lunch status
* special education
* attendance
* GPA
* suspensions, and expulsions
* Coordinates the New Mexico Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey (YRRS) for APS.
* Provides technical assistance to principals, school staff and others in the interpretation and utilization of RJ grant data.
* Designs and implements reliable control and measurement procedures with result in the fulfillment of the RJ grant.
* Assists in reporting and publications/presentations for the RJ grant.
* Participate in meetings with RJ grant staff.
* Assists research team in coordinating data collection as needed.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

* Master degree in education, business/public administration, computer technology or related field
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Flexibility, decision-making and problem solving skills.
* Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.
* Ability to effectively communicate with persons versed in both instructional and technical/data skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
* Ability to design and prepare meaningful and user-friendly technical and implementation of documentation.
* Ability to provide effective training and technical assistance.
* Knowledge of large student information system(s).

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor degree in education, business/public administration, computer technology or related field
* Five years experience utilizing computer technology in education related areas, or data collection and analysis
* Proficient with design and implementation of goals and measures.
* Proficient with accountability measurement and reporting.
* Expertise with word processing, database and spreadsheet and server software.
* Expertise in database collection and analysis.
