Description

We are looking for a PMO Analyst - NOT a Project Manager! This is someone with superb communications skills who attends a lot of meetings within the PMO, takes notes and analyzes the health of every project within the PMO.

The Manager, IT Portfolio & Project Management Office, is a mid-level management position with responsibility for implementing and analysing Global Technology's Portfolio & Project Management Office practices. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with determining the optimal approach and structure for ensuring that the total Client's Global Technology portfolio is planned annually and on a rolling monthly basis, and monitoring and analysing those plans on an ongoing basis.

The Manager, Portfolio & Project Management Office is responsible for fiscal year budgeting & coordination, on-going transparency of the portfolio to monitor health of the budgets and portfolio, and transparency into other parts of technology that is needed to assist the leadership team make management type decisions. The incumbent must partner with technology, finance, strategic sourcing and procurement, business leadership and other key stakeholders to ensure that the holistic TECHNOLOGY plans and ongoing health of the portfolio is transparent and communicated clearly and that those stakeholders' business requirements are documented and executed.

Responsibilities:

  • He/she is responsible for developing processes and establishing a reporting rhythm to support a transparency program to enable TECHNOLOGY to meet or exceed financial targets outlined by the LT and Director, Tech Portfolio & Project Management Office.
  • He/she must also support top-down portfolio reviews and a proactive portfolio management process with reporting and analysis of technology projects and initiatives.
  • He/she must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in project/program/portfolio management, technology finance and key technology management and software development methodologies and tools.
  • Managerial/Analyst - A mid-level managerial position responsible for supporting a strategically important business function, diverse disciplines, and/or a broad geographic remit.
  • Incumbent provides analysis based on direction provide by LT and senior managers.
  • Develops, adapts and executes functional or departmental strategy to achieve key business objectives.
  • Fully accountable for all reporting and analysis supporting Global Technology's transparency initiative.
  • Work with Director, Portfolio & Project Management Office, to Establish an operational TECHNOLOGY-wide transparency framework that can provide insight into technology activities and spend.
  • Ensure that technology activities are defined, tracked and communicated in a consistent and effective manner.

Support Director, Portfolio & Project Management Office with establishing consistent standards for activity structures (investment projects, enhancements, maintenance) to ensure that they can be effectively tracked, monitored and reported. This includes visibility into scheduled, financials and resource allocations, with baselines at various stage gates, and tracking per the baselines.

Produce reports to support decision making regarding prioritization, resource forecasts, and potential impacts on planned and current demand

Define requirements and enhance analytics dashboards that provides insights on costs for activity and operational views, headcount, and business strategies to automate reporting and provide easier access to key TECHNOLOGY stakeholders

Begin partnering with GIS and TECHNOLOGY Finance to support any transparency initiatives regarding base costs, incident management, total costs of applications, and/or other areas defined by ELT and TECHNOLOGY LT.

Improve data quality by auditing and cleansing data while enforcing better practices.

Report, track, and follow up on issues, risks and exceptions are visible and are assigned and acted upon by appropriate management. (Project Analysts to assist)
