Job Description

R&D Software Development Engineer The Dako Pathology Division develops pathology solutions for tissue-based cancer diagnostics. Our portfolio of solutions combines competitive automated systems, software and connectivity, leading reagents and support, all operating in a highly-regulated market environment. We are using lean lab approaches to increase our customer's productivity and efficiency while simultaneously eliminating the chances of operational errors in their workflows. Software is key to achieving these goals and we are investing significantly in our software team to evolve our current solutions using state of the art technologies and tools. This is an opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dynamic team embarking on a new wave of development effort. We are looking for an enthusiastic software engineer to join our team designing and developing both platform and products aimed at automating Pathology customer's workflows. You will be expected to have a range of software development knowledge including component design and development. You will be expected to determine and develop approaches to assignments and solve a range of problems of varying scope and complexity. Strong communication and teamwork with divisional peers in R&D, product marketing, product support, and quality will be key factors for success in the position. Technical knowledge and experience working with the Microsoft C#.Net environment is key to the role and experience with Microsoft tools and the .Net environment s required. Your assignments will start with user requirements, user stories, and existing architectures, to which you will contribute. You will also be responsible for developing tests and test harnesses for your components to ensure they can be both automatically tested and delivered, as defect free as possible, to next level integration testing. Adhering to coding standards, quality procedures, productivity and code quality are the primary measures of success in this position The location for this position is Carpinteria, CA, USA.


Minimum Qualifications: - A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent. - At least 2-4 years' experience in a range of software technologies including design and development experience. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - A track record of contribution to two or more significant projects. - Experience in MS environments and tools specifically C# .Net. - A basic understanding of Microsoft SQL. - Experience using formal design methodologies and a structured development process. Desired qualifications - Experience working in FDA regulated environments - Some experience automating workflows. - Pathology domain knowledge. - Some experience with software to control analytical instrumentation. - Microsoft certifications. - A basic understanding of Microsoft WCF and WPF. - Experience with Agile or similar modern development methodologies.
