Your role will be part of the software test team helping to evaluate our market leading MassHunter software for GC and LC Mass Spectrometers. You will work with R&D product developers to improve their product quality through the design and implementation of an automated software test system. In addition to writing and running tests, you'll also have the satisfaction of helping others be successful and to see them using the results of your work.

This internship position is for the summer and will be located in Santa Clara, CA at our company headquarters.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem-solver with outstanding communication skills and the ability to learn quickly while delivering results. Though you'll be part of a team, you will also be working independently.

The main elements of your job will consist of:

* Collaborating with software R&D engineers to determine the best ways to test their software products
* Creating proof-of-concept tests, obtaining feedback and then implementing tests for assigned product features
* Creating test automation framework tools/scripts and enhancing/modifying as needed for various purposes

You will be expected to consistently adhere to and live Agilent standards of business conduct, as well as Agilent values: speed, focus, accountability, innovation and contribution, trust, respect and teamwork, as well as uncompromising integrity.

Qualifications: Completion of sophomore or junior year in a BS in computer science with classwork in biology or chemistry, or

Completion of sophomore or junior year towards a BA/BS in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related science degree with programming or scripting experience in any programming language

Visual Studio/.NET/C# programming background, Test Complete and Python as well as prior experience in automated software testing is desired.

Interest in applying software development skills in a variety of situations to help others

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook.

Excellent verbal, written and phone communications skills.

Strong professional demeanor, as well as business acumen required.

Must be a team player with ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic team environment.

Previous experience with Agilent products or mass spectrometers is desired.
