Digitalisation Project Lead (Wholegoods Marketing and Sales)

Job Summary:

The lead role in the wholegoods marketing and sales workstream of our Global digitalisation programme will focus upon the digitalisation of selected, prioritised "Moments of Truth" applicable within our Customer Journey.  By working across brands and functions, this role will also ensure we have a joined up approach to digitalisation initiatives. The main target is to provide a step change in the experience our current and potential future customers receive when they engage with any one of our brands in each element of the customer journey, from brand awareness to the returning phase.


Strong project management and change management skills together with experience of digitalisation are key in this role. Further qualifications and skills of the Project Lead include an ability to motivate people and encourage teamwork, an ability to communicate effectively with senior management, and a clear vision of what determines a successful, customer centric experience for the customer and for the company.


The role must also make sure of regular and effective engagement with all other digitalisation workstreams driven by IT and Aftersales to ensure a joined up approach is taken and ultimately the customer receives a 360 degree experience.


Finally the Project Lead must have the courage to face up to issues squarely and early, resolve conflicts, admit to having problems and seek coaching openly, escalate if necessary, and generally champion the people and the project up, down, and across the organization and with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-up, lead, manage and prepare a robust implementation plan for key strategic initiatives/projects
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders from AGCO brands, functions and regions to deliver the digitalisation projects in time and in budget
  • Effective day-to-day management of projects to meet defined gate reviews and project milestones
  • Prepare project plan and obtain management approval of the project plan
  • Assure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities
  • Apply project resources according to the approved project plan
  • Analyse risk and instigate avoidance activities. Establish contingency plans and identify trigger events and responsibility for initiating corrective action.



  • University/Bachelor or Master’s degree (or higher) in Business Administration or similar qualification
  • 5+ years in business consulting or other relevant project management experience
  • Proven track record of leading and managing the digital transformation projects within a comparable business in a relevant industry would be a plus
  • Strong analytical and methodological skills
  • Good financial analysis skills (business case development, KPI definition)
  • Exceptional team player with good relationship and coaching skills
  • Strong team leader capabilities, ability to motivate and lead project teams
  • Experience developing and implementing with CPQ (Configure, Price and Quote) software solutions, E-commerce, SAP/ERP and CRM (Salesforce) experience
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional global team environment, interacting with multiple cultures and coordinating cross functional improvement projects
  • Business level skills in English (company language); other European languages as e.g. German, French or Italian are an advantage
  • Ability to travel (approx. 60%)
  • Overall understanding of the agricultural industry (or other related industries) and/or understanding for different sales distribution methods and structures (dealer network/market) is a plus
