Position Title: Data Warehouse Developer


Job Summary

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate to transform GSI'sdata landscape and provide needed decision making information to the business. This person must be able to work closely with the business to determine data/reporting needs and the IT organization to translate the requirement to a functional, maintainable/sustainable and scalable enterprise data warehouse. This position requires a high degree of team work and yet be able to work independently to deliver the highest quality SAP enterprise data warehouse solutions. Development of data models and ETL processes must address data quality best practices and promote data integrity.

This candidate must be able develop data warehouse solutions that integrate information from various source systems as GSI has acquired several businesses. The data warehouses must be in synch with the various data sources and provide reporting and data usage that is auditable, defensible and repeatable. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data solutions to satisfy defined business reporting requirements
  • Create data layers for the business to consume
  • Assist with identifying required data in various source environments
  • Develop required extract programs or methods
  • Map data to the B/W environment
  • Assist in identifying data quality gaps
  • Ensure integration testing of data from various sources
  • Fine tuning of the environment to improve performance of BW datasets


Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Server databases.
  • Extensive experience designing, implementing and deploying into production an enterprise data warehouse
  • Experience designing security at both the schema level and the accessibility level in conjunction with the DBAs
  • Extensive experience defining data standards and creating data models
  • Extensive experience tuning ELT and reporting processes
  • Experience in both strategic design of data warehouse & the ability to implement the strategy.
  • Experience developing SAP BEx queries for use by the business
  • Experience developing Business Objects Universes to be consumed by the business
  • ABAP programming a plus
  • Knowledgeable of Business Object front-end tools (Webi, Lumira, Business Analysis for Office) a plus
