Job Description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer (Digital) I to join our New England Innovation Center (NEIC) team located in the Greater Boston Area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Conducts general engineering and design of electronic systems on UAVs with cross-functional development teams.
* Perform simulation and detailed design for digital circuits.
* Drive system integration, assembly procedures, and test procedures.
* Documents designs with engineering drawings and written descriptions.
* Trouble-shoots complex systems from a hardware and software perspective.
* Able to quickly design, build, and test prototypes.
* Works with avionics, embedded systems, and RF links.
* Writes software to support the integration of sensors and embedded processors.
* Supports flight test operations, some travel may be required.
* Design and implement circuit boards. This effort will include architecture, component selection, schematic capture, board layout, board bring-up, and documentation.
* Performs electronic engineering support activities on R&D projects.

Required Qualifications & Background

* US Citizenship or Permanent Resident
* Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering with 0-2 years of professional experience is required.
* Active DOD Secret security clearance investigated within the last 5 years.
* Internship and/or co-op experience in R&D projects, Aerospace experience desired.
* Familiarity with C/C++.
* Familiarity with HDL programming a plus.
* Experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
* The familiarity of common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB)
* General Engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics, material properties.
* Flight test or R/C (Remote Control) experience a plus, hands-on experience with tools a plus.
* Experience in one or more areas: RF, embedded control, FPGA.
* Familiarity with Small UAV subsystems and associated software a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written skills - Leadership experience - Team Player.
* Familiarity with software tools in their area of expertise.
* Familiarity with office software and computer-based productivity tools.
* Must comply with company's policies and procedures.
* Must be willing to work on government contracts.
* Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Experience with power electronics, including motors and lithium batteries.
