Job Description

The CAD Technician will be in the office 100% of the time. The corporate culture is team oriented. Lots of training and mentor-ship programs. They take company trips and commit to developing their people.

Hours: 8am-5pm M-F.

Office has 25-30 people. Dress code is business casual (emphasis on the casual) the field personnel wear jeans and are in and out of the office throughout the day.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Work directly with technical and management staff to generate two- and three-dimensional models and drawings using AutoCAD 2014 software.
* Design/draft Potentiometric surface maps, to-scale facility and property maps, and subsurface cross-sectional maps.
* Create to-scale drawings, starting with a base image such as a topographic map or google image, and adding in site specific features, hand drawn sketches, or GPS points surveyed by the field crew.
* Assist in developing conceptual site models to present in a way that is easily visualized and updated as new information is obtained.
* Check drawings created by others to ensure accuracy and compliance of organizational standards.
* Participate in office meetings.

MUST

2 years experience in AutoCAD (could be from school or from employment)

Ability to work independently and in a team setting

PLUS

Associates Degree OR BS Degree

Experience working for an Environmental or Civil Engineering Consulting company

3-5 years of full time employment in this field

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Requires 0 - 2 years of drafting and/or design experience using AutoCAD software and a bachelors or associates degree in Drafting Technology AutoCAD or a related field. Industry-specific certifications and training are a plus. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, exhibit strong time management skills, and be comfortable working in a deadline driven environment. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
