STAPLES Center's sixteen years have also been marked with performances and special events that brought international stature to the downtown Los Angeles venue including concerts Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Prince U2, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, Usher, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Keith Urban, Roger Waters, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, Sade and Justin Timberlake, as well as world championship boxing, family shows and special events. Hosting over 250 events a year, the arena's reputation for world-class amenities, features and commitment to quality of service and the guest experience is second to none. Staples, Inc. entered into a 20-year agreement to become the arena's Naming Rights Partner December 1, 1998, which has since been extended into perpetuity.

Job Summary:

The Security Department's team is responsible for the safety and security of STAPLES Center and Microsoft Theater's guests, team members, and assets at all times.

This position is open to current STAPLES Center/Microsoft Theater part-time Security Officer I's.

Key Job Factors:

* Train new Security Team Members on the responsibilities of an Event Security Officer I. 20% Daily
* Assist Security Supervisors and Management with providing direction and support to Security Team Members.10% Daily
* Work in highly demanding or sensitive posts. 10% Daily
* Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional guests and staff during intensely aggravated circumstances. 5% Daily
* Conduct patrols of the building on a regular basis. 5% Daily
* Respond to all security and safety related issues in a timely manner. 10% Daily
* Investigate incidents and compile information for official reports. 5% Daily
* Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without the loss of efficiency or composure. 5% Daily
* Use excellent customer service skills when interacting with guests, clients, and staff. 5% Daily
* Complete all assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by Security Managers and Supervisors. 5% Daily
* Comply with all legal and ethical instructions given by Event Security Managers and Supervisors. 10% Daily
* Have a basic understanding of the rule of law and the corresponding penal codes. 5% Daily
* Other duties as assigned. 5% Daily

Required Qualifications:

* A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
* A minimum of 1-2 years of related work experience
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
* 4. Ability to perform calmly under pressure.
* Ability to provide clear communication and support to Security Team Members, Supervisors Management, Venue Tenants and Team Personnel.
* Willingness to accept greater responsibility and accountability.
* Work honestly and effectively with moderate supervision.
* Must demonstrate the ability to perform the job duties of Security Officer I.
* Must have a good record of attendance.

Preferred Qualifications:

* CPR / AED / First Aid training
