Job Summary

AECOM's High Performance Buildings and Communities team is seeking an individual who is passionate about sustainability and wants to build a career in this field. This intern position will be based in the Orange office.

AECOM is a unique, multidisciplinary practice that succeeds through the individual and collaborative skills of its people. Working within a multi-skilled group of designers and engineers, the successful candidate will get an opportunity to be part of some interesting, challenging and high-profile projects.

The candidate must be in their last year of college or a recent graduate with a Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, architecture, building physics, or environmental science. The candidate must have a strong interest in green buildings and sustainability. Knowledge of green building certification would be beneficial.

Minimum Requirements

* In their last year of college or a recent graduate with a Bachelors or Masters degree in the relevant field.


* Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.


* Ability to communicate problems clearly.


* Desire to work in a team-based project environment.


* Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office suite.


* Strong problem-solving skills.


* Strong analytical and research skills.


* Good report writing skills.



Preferred Qualifications

* 0-1 years of experience in the field of sustainability.


* Knowledge and experience in Sustainability certification schemes (such as LEED, Envision)


* Experience in building energy modeling/ high performance design tools such as VE IES, Energy Pro, Trane Trace, Equest, Diva for Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo.


* Understanding of low and zero carbon building technologies


* Experience in graphics software such as InDesign, illustrator etc.
