Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Planning and Permitting Intern for Spring 2020 employment in the Salt Lake City, UT office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

* Assist in preparing engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids;


* Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater and soil sampling, remediation system operations, site inspections);


* Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories to assist in interpreting and analyzing data;


* Review contractor submittals for adherence to technical specifications on construction projects;


* Compare investigation findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to assess compliance, draft reports documenting results and presenting findings; and


* Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.



Minimum Requirements

* AA/AS (US) + None or Diploma/Certification (Canada) + None


* Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field


* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)


* Valid U.S. Driver's License


* Must be a U.S. citizen



Preferred Qualifications

* OSHA HAZWOPER 40 Hour training strongly preferred


* GIS and/or CAD skills
