Job Description

United States of America - California, Orange

Job Summary

Responsibilities include:

* Relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.


* Responsible for setting own project deadlines.


* Provides on the job training to new employees.


* Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.


* Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.


* Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.


* Tracks quality assurance progress.


* Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.



Minimum Requirements

* High School and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education performing structures inspection services (bridges, retaining walls, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

* BS in Civil Engineering


* CA Professional Engineer


* Certifications for applicable CTMs, ASTMs and/or ACI procedures and take samples and perform field-controlled tests of construction materials for quality assurance.


* Previous experience working within Caltrans Right of way performing structures inspection.


* Ability to use and reference the following:


* Caltrans Falsework Manual


* Caltrans Trench and Shoring Manual


* Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual.


* Caltrans Foundation Manual.


* Caltrans Prestress Manual.


* Caltrans Deck Construction Manual.


* Ability to work in various environments (office and field construction sites)


* Ability to work alternative shifts including weekends and nights


* Driver license


* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
