Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Construction Engineer for employment in the Chicago office.

The qualified applicant should be able to demonstrate a high level of interest or relevant coursework in Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI). The position provides the opportunity to support CEI efforts for exciting, challenging, and high-profile transportation projects for IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, and other local Municipalities. This position provides training, guidance, and development of skills needed to acquire a Professional Engineering license.

Under the responsible charge of a Resident Engineer:

* Work within the CEI group on the construction projects including local roadways, highways, interstates, freight and transit, drainage improvements and utility relocation and protection

* Perform field inspection and documentation of Contractor's activities

* Perform field measurements for quantity calculations and reporting for pay estimates

* Communicate effectively with the project team, including Clients, Contractors, and Project Stakeholders

* Provide quality inspection to ensure that job is being built in accordance with approved plans

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering or other related field required

* Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

* Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software (examples include software such as CADD,AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS,)

* Interest in construction of transportation projects

* Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

* Valid driver license required

Preferred Qualifications

* Working experience in the Construction Engineering industry

* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
