Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer for employment in the Chicago, IL office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

* Builds analytic and design skills.

* Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer

* Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer

* Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer

* Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems

* Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision

* Assisting in maintaining project documentation

Producing high quality plans that are accurate and effective in communicating the design concept to the constructor

Transportation design including but not limited to

* Geometric Layout

* Cross-sections

* Drainage

* Erosion Control

* Plan preparation

* Cost estimating

* Report writing

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation engineering

* Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Be organized and detail-oriented

* Willingness to travel (if and when required)

* Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

* Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred

* Basic knowledge of some industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, HEC-RAS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

* Previous intern/coop/work experience is preferred
