Job Summary

The Design Consulting Services of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Under-graduate Co-operative Education Civil Engineering Student for intern employment in Charleston, SC office. The position will serve in the Storm Water Technical Practice of Water Resources. The appropriately qualified applicant will perform standard computations and/or Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) of civil engineering work for water pump station, sewer lift stations, water treatment plants and/or wastewater treatment plants. Position will work under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Run models, calculations and designs software for various water resources projects

* Observe construction progress and assist in construction administration for municipal projects

* Work on small segments of broad tasks

* Apply engineering principles to develop effective solutions

* Perform standard computations and/or analysis

* Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

* Acquire training in industry standard computer software (software may include AutoCAD Civil 3D)

Minimum Requirements

* Current student perusing a Degree in Civil Engineering or appropriate discipline

* Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

* Computer Aided Drafting experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D

* Functional knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

* Computer Aided Drafting experience in AutoCAD

* Ability to manage tasks or small segments of entire project

* Excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment
