Position Title Hydraulic/Civil Engineer

United States of America - Virginia

Arlington

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Intermediate Hydraulic/Civil Engineer for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office.

In this role, entry-level new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM's Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out drainage and civil engineering tasks

+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

+ Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

+ Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps and data presentation, and report development

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member to Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, grading plans, design storm sewer and culverts, and prepare profiles

+ Prepare plans/drawings/quantities

+ Attend client meetings as required

+ Perform site inspections

+ Design of roadway projects including collector and local roadways

Minimum Requirements

+ Minimum B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or equal from an accredited university or college

+ Ability to work with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, AutoCAD/Civil3D and Microstation

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

+ HEC-RAS modeling experience

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

+ Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to present and discuss technical content with clients, regulatory agency staff, and the public

+ Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills
