CME Coordinator - Continuing Medical Education - Orlando

AdventHealth Orlando seeks to hire a CME Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.

Facility Profile:

Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

Job Summary:

Coordinates Continuing Medical Education plans and programs ensuring the Florida Hospital complies with the ACCME, FMA and AOA requirements in order to maintain the overall education needed for physician licensure in the State of Florida. Provides needed education to all Medical Staff at Florida Hospital in their pursuit of excellence. Performs the credentialing process for all Medical Education physicians with all insurance carriers in order for the physicians to be able to provide reimbursable medical services to the patients that present for service. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, treating everyone with dignity.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:

* Prior knowledge of educational program development (Preferred)
* Strong organizational skills (Preferred)
* Well developed communication, both verbal and written, skills (Preferred)
* Computer skills, which include prior use of word processing, email and spreadsheets. (Preferred)
* Bachelor's degree in education, business, communication or technology (Preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth's Core Values of Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own it as outlined in the organization's Performance Excellence Program.

* Coordinates and facilitates all Physician Continuing Medical Education
* Coordinates the Medical Staff Education Committee from notification of members to agenda and minute preparation.
* Coordinates all local and national continuing medical education programs in adherence to accreditation standards. This involves all aspects of coordination from application, speaker confirmations, brochure development through attendance documentation and evaluation.
* Tracks all Continuing Medical Education funds, including commercial support funds, to ensure full compliance with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support.
* Updates Medical Staff Physicians on current standards, changes and relicensure requirements. Facilitates and coordinates the mandatory requirements for physicians and maintains a history of their CME courses.
* Processes, files and distributes all required reports in order to maintain compliance with accrediting bodies and to meet the documentation needs of the Medical Staff Physicians.
* Maintains accreditation as a provider of CME with the Florida Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association
* Performs all responsibilities for initial credentialing and recredentialing with all insurance carriers for the faculty of Medical Education.
* Performs other duties as assigned or directed by the Medical Education Administrator to ensure the smooth operations of the department.
