We are currently seeking a Accounting/Finance Intern for Summer 2020 who could ultimately participate in our five year Finance Development Program. Our interns will have the opportunity to work in any of the following areas:

* US Central Accounting
* Financial Transaction Processing
* Treasury
* Financial Planning and Analysis
* Business Decision Support

Our internship program provides real world business experience, enabling our interns to be fully integrated into our day-to-day operations, giving them a unique perspective to our culture and business environment. Importantly, our interns will have exposure to the finance leadership team, including the opportunity to job shadow and interact with various members of leadership to gain an appreciation of the different expectations and contributions delivered by our senior finance leaders.

In addition, our intern program provides vast learning opportunities, such as providing interns the ability to secure a Lean Six Sigma ("LSS") Yellow belt. This will enable our interns to participate in cross-functional business improvement teams and allow them to function as a full team member in their assigned roles.

Position Responsibilities and Principles:

* Ten weeks internship duration
* Interns will be expected to assume and discharge real responsibilities by established deadlines
* Interns will be assigned to a team, with the expectation that hard work and support will make their team successful
* Interns will have direct exposure to senior management and opportunities to job shadow with the senior finance leadership team to gain valuable experience
* Will be trained as a LSS Yellow belt early during their internship so they will be able to participate as a Finance team member on a cross-functional LSS business improvement team
* We will assess their performance both during and at the conclusion of the summer assignment

Position Qualifications

* Within one year of graduation at a four year undergraduate university (must be a current student during internship)
* Accounting majors are strongly preferred, will consider Finance majors with a minor/concentration in Accounting
* Intend on sitting for the CPA, once candidate meets 150 credit hour requirement
* Considering candidates with a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher
* Strong desire to join our five year Finance Development Program upon graduation

ACCO Brands Corporation has been one of the world's largest suppliers of office products for more than a century. ACCO Brands Corporation’s roots stretch back to the founding of Wilson Jones in 1893, the American Clip Company (ACCO) in 1903 and the Swingline Company in 1925. In 2012, ACCO Brands Corporation merged with MeadWestvaco’s Consumer & Office Products business, adding well-known brands including Mead®, Five Star®, Trapper Keeper®, AT-A-GLANCE®, Cambridge®, Day Runner®, Hilroy, Tilibra and Grafon’s. Combining with this MeadWestvaco business unit expanded ACCO Brands’ global reach and impact in important consumer channels.

The beginnings of MeadWestvaco, a global leader in packaging and packaging solutions, date back to 1846 when Colonel Daniel E. Mead helped establish a paper company in Dayton, Ohio.  The company grew, adopted the name Mead Paper Company and acquired mills and production plants across the U.S. In 1966, Mead Corporation acquired spiral notebook inventor Westab, Inc., adding school, home and office products to its line of business.

Mead subsequently added several premier home, school and office products brands, including Hilroy – a Canada-based home, school and office supply brand (1994) — and AT-A-GLANCE®, a leading producer and marketer of dated and time management products (1999). These additions helped Mead become a leading manufacturer and marketer of school supplies, office products, and planning and organizing tools.  In 2002, Mead Corporation merged with Westvaco Corporation to form MeadWestvaco.  The new corporation subsequently acquired two Brazilian-based businesses – Tilibra (2004), a producer of consumer and office products, and Grafon’s (2009), a pre-eminent maker of greeting cards.

Today, the products of ACCO Brands can be found in more than 100 countries around the world.  As home to more than 20 top brands in their categories, the company is poised to continue its global leadership and growth.
