Legal Intern

Job Description

The Legal Intern reports to the Staff Attorney. The Legal Intern's primary functions are to assist with licensing and violations auditing; APFM's mandatory reporting; as well as generally support the Legal Team.


Key Responsibilities

* Assist with the Bi-annual Licensing and Violations Auditing Policy
* Analyze and recommend resolutions to contract disputes
* Conduct online research to monitor senior living community partner licenses and violations in the U.S. and Canada
* Research senior living regulations and communicate with government bodies as necessary
* Investigate internal and internet reports of abuse to vulnerable adults
* Assist with Privacy issues, including unsubscribe requests to the company's Privacy email alias
* Prepare reports and documentation as needed
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Staff Attorney


Required Skills and Competencies

* Excellent attention to detail and superb organizational skills
* Ability to navigate internal CRM database and excel spreadsheets
* Ability to conduct thorough online research of state regulatory websites
* Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
* Meticulously track documentation and maintain extremely organized records
* Ability to produce results with high efficiency and accuracy
* Ability to write and edit simple, professional correspondence with a focus on a high degree of professionalism and customer-service
* Excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills
* Self-starter and independent working style


The Legal Intern is an hourly position. The Legal Intern will receive an annual salary, which will be paid every two weeks.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for consideration, visa sponsorship not available. Completion of a full-background check is required prior to employment.
