As an Application Engineer Intern you will work with Lead Application Engineers in modeling real-world fluid problems in the heavy vehicle industry including engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray, air-intake systems, etc.

You will gain extensive experience with commercial CFD pre & post-processing software and directly support customer projects through analysis, visualization and communication of CFD simulation results. You will also have the opportunity to research specific client problems and present to Application Engineering team.

This is a paid internship based at the Dassault Systèmes North American Headquarters located on 175 Wyman Street, Waltham, Massachusetts from January - June 2019.

What will your role be?

As an Application Engineer Intern you will be:

Assisting Lead Application Engineer in modeling real-world fluid problems in the heavy vehicle industry including engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray, air-intake systems, etc.

Gaining extensive experience with commercial CFD pre & post-processing software

Developing new design concepts/parts based on analysis of simulation results

Generating advanced visualization of client results

Researching specific client problems and present to Application Engineering team

Your key success factors

Actively enrolled in Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or PhD program in ME, CFD, Aerodynamics, Physics or equivalent for the duration of the internship

Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0

Course/lab experience using CAE Tools

Strong interest and solid knowledge of fluid dynamic fundamentals

Basic UNIX Skills, Script programming and experience with complex graphics tools

Strong desire for continuous learning

Strong English written/verbal communication and presentation skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/multiple projects simultaneously
