Job Description

Position Description

Material Management Business & Systems Transformation (MMBST) is a program within CAS Material Management (MM) which is transitioning MM business processes to industry standard processes and replacing 50+ applications with a single integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) COTS product (SAP). This position creates, modifies and executes Data Conversion scripts for the conversion of legacy data from various source systems into SAP as an integral part of the implementation project.

Responsibilities include:
- Learning the SAP Business Object Data Services (BODS) Designer tool for developing Conversion scripts
- Understanding data mapping/transformation rules defined in Functional Specification documents
- Establishing access to the source systems for data profiling and extracting
- Assisting Functional Analysts with source data extracting for Profiling and Analysis
- Preparing Technical Specification documents to define required Conversion scripts
- Generating Extract and Transformation code using Designer tools
- Conducting unit tests on Extract and Transformation objects that have been created or modified
- Participating in code walkthroughs
- Executing Data Conversion jobs for Test Cycle and Production cutover events

Skills & Experience:
- SQL skills
- Excellent team player - ability to share work load and partner with others to produce a consolidated result
- Self-Starter - must be able to learn by doing
- Quick learner
- Familiar with the Windows environment
- Prior experience with Data Conversion projects desirable
- Prior SAP Business Objects Data Services desirable

Typical Education/Experience
