Job Description

This is an entry level position.

Do you want to join a team of the best and the brightest? Tektronix offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued technological advancement of the world's most respected and recognizable engineering tools - Tektronix oscilloscopes - while applying state-of-the-art software engineering practices under the guidance of an experienced mentor.


Create embedded software components that directly control hardware devices
Read, understand and modify existing software components
Create and modify functional test suites to verify components
Create and review specifications and test plans
Set schedules for assigned tasks
Identify quality and schedule risks and make recommendations to mitigate those risks
Develop technical documentation
Work with and assist other teams and team members, including Software Quality Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Marketing and Program Management This is an entry level position.


Bachelors degree, or in the process of obtaining a
degree, in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science or Computer Engineering required

Familiarity with both Linux and Windows operating systems and their development environments required
Understanding of operating system concepts (memory management, mutli-threading, and device abstraction) required


Has proven C/C programming skills
Has a working knowledge of hardware operation
Is results-driven with a sense of urgency
Has good time management and personal organization skills
Has good written and verbal communication skills
Has a proven record of effective teamwork
Has passion for technology
Has passion for people
Has passion for quality

This position's primary/essential functions are subject to US Government ITAR compliance requirements under current government contracts.
