Supplemental Questions

The Seattle Police Department is actively recruiting for an application support/development position. This is an excellent opportunity to implement innovative technologies and advance the effectiveness of law enforcement in the Seattle community using your existing skills while learning new technologies in a highly motivated team atmosphere. This is a six month temporary assignment.

Job Responsibilities:

You will work under the supervision of the Applications Supervisor to develop and support applications for the Seattle Police Department using Oracle Applications express to develop solutions for the police department. This position will include: articulating charters gathering requirements leading focus groups developing using agile methods creating system documentation facilitating testing rolling systems into production providing on-going technical support maintenance to existing applications providing technical leadership on development efforts assigned to them


Education: The equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field Experience: One-year developing in Oracle Applications Express (recent versions) Three-years working in Software Development Life Cycle world using tools/technologies such as PHP, C#, Java, or AJAX technologies Education/Experience Equivalency : Applicants education, experience, training and certification will be evaluated for comparability on an individual basis Seattle Police Department Requirements : Must satisfy a Seattle Police Department background investigation Must be willing to carry a pager and cell phone and participate in standby rotation Must be able to participate in 24x7 on-call response rotation Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment Must possess excellent research and problem solving skills Must possess a current Driver's License and within 30 days of employment a Washington State Driver's License Must be able to lift 50 pounds
