Job Description Are you a dynamic superstar who likes variety? CBS Interactive's Download group is looking for a talented Associate Software Engineer to join its engineering team. You'll be a key developer designing, building, and maintaining consumer-facing web sites across our portfolio of services, including Download.com, Download.com Mobile, and Upload.com.

This Associate Software Engineer must be a highly-motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with a proven track record of delivering highest quality, scalable solutions. You'll need to be flexible, smart, and tenacious. You'll be working regularly with business, design, QA, and other engineering team members to define and develop solutions and features, so top notch communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Required Qualifications 0-2 years of experience or outstanding recent college graduate
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design
Experience with web technologies such as: HTTP, HTML, CSS, JS, Java/JSP, PHP
Experience using Symfony or other PHP framework is a plus
Experience working with Apache or Nginx web servers
Experiences with relational and NoSQL databases, preferably MySQL and MongoDB
Experience working within Linux development environments
Self-motivated and accountable
Strong communication skills
Experience participating in code reviews
Experience with Agile or other similar development methodologies

PLUSES:
Experience with HTML5/CSS3, and modern javascript technologies (jQuery, jQuery mobile) and OOP patterns within js frameworks
Experience with Solr/Lucene

This is a full-time position, located in downtown Portland, blocks from Pioneer Square.
