Overview of VLDP:

The Verizon Leadership Development Program (VLDP) is an entry level career opportunity that encourages participants to develop the skills and capabilities needed to meet current and future business needs, all while experiencing diverse job rotations across the enterprise in different locations throughout the country.

Here's what you'll experience in this cutting-edge program:

Participants complete three unique rotations throughout Verizon's core and wireless groups, focusing on the development of key functional skills

Participants strengthen their technical, business and leadership skills through structured, 'real life' assignments; participation in enterprise wide LDP leadership/management development curriculum and defined networking/support activities

Participants will apply their skills in a full range of high-impact projects, meetings, and presentations

Participants successfully completing program performance criteria will be eligible for placement

Overview of IT Program:

And when you launch your career with our three year entry-level Information Technology Leadership Development Program, you'll dive into our full spectrum of industry defining technologies that enable our millions of customers to harness the power of our networks every day. Through a series of three in-depth rotations across Verizon's core and wireless groups, you'll contribute your ideas and advance your skills with a team that thrives on breaking new ground. That means honing your expertise in programming, networking and architecture, hardware engineering, database management, and business analysis - all in an environment that offers the latest in information technologies. You'll emerge ready to lead the way in making a positive impact with a company dedicated to enhancing the world!

Position Responsibilities May Include:

Software design and implementation

Network and information security

Product development and rollout

Infrastructure management and support

Position responsibilities will vary by rotation, location, and business Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies, Computer Engineering or equivalent major

3.0 GPA or greater preferred

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Self-starter with strong leadership skills; team oriented

Superior organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

Excellent quantitative, written, and oral communication skills

For some roles: advanced modeling and operations research skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines

Familiarity with one or more of the following technologies and disciplines: Java, ASP.net, C, C++, C#, Javascript, HTML, DHTML, AJAX, CSS, network design, network and information security, Oracle, SQL Server, UNIX, Windows, mainframe

Previous related internship/work experience preferred

Willingness to relocate as candidates may be placed for long- or short-term rotations in locations throughout Verizon's U.S. footprint. Rotation locations may include, but are not limited to: Irvine, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; Temple Terrace, FL; Alpharetta, GA and/or Basking Ridge, NJ
