Deloitte FAS Analytics professionals implement technology-based solutions that incorporate predictive, visual, and text analytics tools combined with sophisticated data analysis techniques to help clients address their critical business concerns. Applied to a wide range of events, our solutions are applied to fraud and forensic investigations, litigation, reorganization, valuation, and other matters to help our clients achieve and maintain compliance in today's regulatory environment and minimize the impact of adverse events. Deloitte FAS Analytics goes to market with two groups that share similar approaches, but offer different experiences and skillsets:
Data Analytics. Strategically analyzes structured (e.g. transactional) and unstructured (e.g. text) electronic data from the initial stages of data scoping and collection through transformation and validation for purposes of deep data analysis and mining. This is performed as the basis for larger efforts which include employing rules and indicator based testing, inductive reasoning, and visual techniques. These methods are used to identify and facilitate prevention of fraud schemes or scenarios, develop models that depict or describe historical events, and build predictive models for anti-fraud and corruption efforts. Analytical methods are also commonly used to mine and develop insights into large volumes of data to help navigate intricate legal processes or identify areas of opportunity for business process improvement. Troubled companies are subjected to rigorous reporting requirements that require careful adjudication of financial data, requiring complex development and administration of systems built to manage extensive networks of user interaction. Additionally, Analytics is used to assist these companies in peer analysis, quantifying opportunity cost, and discerning areas of strategic improvement.
Advanced Analytics. Apply advanced economic, finance, and quantitative techniques to address complex business and legal challenges, creating strategies and providing expert testimony for government agencies, leading law firms and corporations. These techniques include development of economic and statistical models and utilize state-of-the-art analytical tools to uncover patterns and correlations in complex data to help predict likely future outcomes. Analyze geographic data using a combination of spatial software and analytical methods to assist clients in making strategic decisions, reducing risks, increasing efficiency, and realizing organization goals.
In addition, FAS Analytics professionals are positioned to team with and provide leadership and guidance to broader Deloitte-wide analytics initiatives and global opportunities.
