The primary duties of this position include working, as an electrical engineer, under the direction of the project manager on a variety of electrical systems and design needs for transportation projects. Exceptional candidates will be professional, self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding environment. Duties may include: * Assist Project Manager and senior engineers in electrical design for permanent transportation facilities including roadway/pedestrian/navigation lighting, intelligent transportation systems, transit facilities, and traffic signals. * Assist Project Manager and senior engineers in developing temporary construction staging for maintaining and relocating existing electrical services to roadway/pedestrian/navigation lighting, intelligent transportation systems, transit facilities, and traffic signals. * Responsible for electrical calculations to identify type, size, and location of electrical facilities including, but not limited to, switch boards/panel boards, overcurrent devices, transformers, equipment cabinets, uninterrupted power supplies, conduits, junction boxes, and wiring. * Responsible for developing engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the electrical part of the projects. Keyword(s): ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, AUTOCAD, ENGINEERING, POWER SYSTEMS. PE, P.E.
* Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. * Familiarity with National Electrical Code is required. * Proficiency in electrical design and calculation is required. * P.E. is preferred, but not required. * 5+ years of experience preferred in electrical design of transportation facilities including, but not limited to, roadway/pedestrian lighting, intelligent transportation systems, transit facilities, and traffic signal systems. * Strong computer skills in Microstation, Microsoft Office and electrical design software. AutoCAD experience is desirable. * Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desirable.
