We have an immediate need to hire a full-time Network and Systems Administrator at our downtown Seattle Paratransit Call Center. This position is responsible for maintaining the Call Center network and server environment by managing servers, identifying network requirements; installing updates and upgrades; and monitoring network performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administers servers (physical and virtual), desktop computers (physical and virtual), printers, routers, switches, storage area networks, firewalls, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Maintains integrity of the network, server deployment, and security. Manages network security via directory services including group policy, group membership and, when necessary, filesystem restrictions.

Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Performs regular file archival and purge as necessary.

Installs new / rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures.

Applies OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrades administrative tools and utilities. Configures / adds new services as necessary.

Job Requirements
You should possess college degree in computer science (Associates or higher), or should have significant related computer work experience in the lieu of a degree.

You must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft server architecture and networking principles. Having an MCSE or comparable certification highly desirable.

Two or more years experience supporting server and desktop virtualization using VMware and Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop is a must.

You must be able to work extended hours as needed including acting as primary after hours contact on a regular schedule.

You must be able to develop comprehensive project work plans.

You must be able to learn new technology and/or functional areas quickly and thoroughly.

You must be able to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently.

You must be physically able to work in small spaces to perform cable management, server, workstation and other hardware repairs.

Knowledge of Transportation Reservation, Dispatch and Scheduling functions highly desirable.

Exceptional customer service skills and professional telephone manners are, as expected, necessary as are good time management skills ensuring the completion of numerous tasks throughout the day.
